It was cold (-19 Celsius)! The virtual component could be skated anywhere, anytime and had participants from Ontario, USA and Poland.
This skating tour was in memory of Tony Lambert, who has been a long-time driving force behind organizing marathon speed skating races in Edmonton and who suddenly passed away in April 2020. Laps skated were recorded with help from skaters, who counted there own laps. The World outside hour record is 38.6 km for men and 33.8 km for women. The Canadian records are 34.1 km for men and 29.6 km for women. The Alberta records are 32.3 km for men and 29.6 km for women. No records were broken because of -19 C temperatures and windy conditions. We thank Marc Chalifoux for excellent photos of this event.
