Sectionals

The team placed 2nd at the IHSA 2A Olney Sectional.


Our 7 runners today were junior Henry McMurry, junior Auggie Gaudio, senior Kaleb Kasper, sophomore Tate Bode, freshman Adam Smigielski, senior Lukas Nykaza, and freshman Tay Gergen.


Top 10 medal and earn All-Sectional honors. We had 1 medalist--Henry McMurry placed 4th.

Regionals

The team won the IHSA 2A Mattoon Regional.


Our 7 runners today were senior Kaleb Kasper, senior Zach Wilcoski, freshman Adam Smigielski, senior Lukas Nykaza, sophomore Tate Bode, freshman Tayten Gergen, and freshman Henry Welch.


Top 5 medal and earn All-Regional honors. We had 1 medalist--Kaleb Kasper placed 4th.

Apollo Conference Meet

The team won the Apollo Conference meet.


Top 10 medal and earn All-Conference honors. We had 4 medalists--junior Auggie Gaudio (1st), junior Henry McMurry (2nd), senior Kaleb Kasper (4th), and senior Lukas Nykaza (10th). Honorable mention to Zach Wilcoski for placing 11th.


Every single member of our team that finished the race ran a lifetime 3-mile best today (21/22).

Gene Jones Runnin' Red Invitational

The team placed 2nd at the 23-team Gene Jones Runnin' Red Invitational.


Top 30 medal. We had 3 medalists--junior Auggie Gaudio (3rd), junior Henry McMurry (6th), senior Zach Wilcoski (28th). 

East Peoria Invitational

The team won the 10-team East Peoria Invitational.


Top 20 medal. We had 7 medalists--junior Auggie Gaudio (2nd), junior Henry McMurry (5th), senior Lukas Nykaza (7th), senior Kaleb Kasper (10th), sophomore Tate Bode (11th), freshman Adam Smigielski (13th), and senior Zach Wilcoski (16th).


Freshman Adam Smigielski, freshman Kiptyn Fan, and freshman Henry Welch all ran lifetime 3-mile personal bests.

Richard Spring Invitational

The team placed 21st in the 65-team varsity race. The team placed 14th in the 47-team junior varsity race.


We had 14 of our 22 runners run lifetime 3-mile bests--junior Auggie Gaudio, junior Henry McMurry, senior Kaleb Kasper, senior Zach Wilcoski, sophomore Tate Bode, junior Corban McMinn, freshman Tay Gergen, sophomore Jack Van Hoorn, freshman Kiptyn Fan, freshman Henry Welch, freshman Carter Alderks, sophomore Blake Patrick, freshman Dominic Bruns, and freshman Bernardo Allan Pinto. 


Lee Halberg Invitational

The team placed 3rd in the 13-team varsity race. The team placed 1st in the 7-team junior varsity race.

Freshman Carter Alderks, freshman Kiptyn Fan, and freshman Adam Smigielski all ran lifetime 3-mile personal bests. 


Top 30 medaled in the varsity race. We had 5 medalists--junior Auggie Gaudio (12th), junior Henry McMurry (13th), senior Zach Wilcoski (14th), senior Lukas Nykaza (20th), and sophomore Tate Bode (21st).

Top 20 medaled in the junior varsity race. We had 7 medalists--freshman Adam Smigielski (1st), junior Corban McMinn (6th), sophomore Jack Van Hoorn (8th), freshman Kiptyn Fan (10th), freshman Carter Alderks (13th), freshman Henry Welch (14th), and freshman Tay Gergen (15th).

Charleston Invitational

The team won the 19-team Charleston Invitational.


Senior Gavin Fan, senior Kaleb Kasper, senior Zach Wilcoski, junior Ben Schultz, sophomore Matthew Gray, sophomore Jackson Koontz, sophomore Blake Patrick, and sophomore Jack Van Hoorn all ran lifetime 3-mile personal bests. 


Top 40 medal. We had 9 medalists--junior Henry McMurry (6th), junior Auggie Gaudio (7th), senior Kaleb Kasper (19th), senior Zach Wilcoski (21st), senior Lukas Nykaza (22nd), sophomore Tate Bode (24th), freshman Liam Burwell (27th), freshman Adam Smigielski (31st), and junior Corban McMinn (40th).

Fall Sports Kickoff

WHEN: Friday, August 23rd at 6pm, more specific time slot to come

WHERE: The high school track

WHAT: Runners should wear khaki shorts and the team jacket.

Picture Day


WHEN: Saturday, August 17th at 8:30am

WHERE: Meet at the west parking lot of the Buffalo Trace trails just north of the high school

WHAT: Come dressed in your uniform. We will take pictures then practice after. The goal is to be all done 10:30am.

XC First Day of Practice


WHEN: Monday, August 12th at 3:30pm

WHERE: Orange locker room, enter at back of high school (door #18)

WHAT: First practice of the official XC season. Bring a lock so you can be assigned a locker. Also, please bring a case of water bottles for the team fridge. Come prepared to run.

XC Parent Meeting

WHEN: Sunday, August 11th at 6pm

WHERE: High school auditorium

WHAT: A ~30 minute meeting going over general information about the XC season. There will also be time to ask questions.

XC Summer Running


WHEN: Sunday through Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 7am, from June 1st until August 12th

WHERE: Back of the high school

WHAT: Summer running is a daily opportunity for runners to meet and train together over the summer. Beginning Monday, June 24th, runners will need an excused absence to miss Mondays, Thurdays, and Saturdays.

XC Summer Meeting


WHEN: Friday, May 31st at 6pm

WHERE: Coach Martin's room at the high school

WHAT: The XC summer meeting is a chance for old and new runners to meet and learn about the XC program in a casual environment. If you are on the fence about running XC, it is strongly encouraged that you attend the meeting--attending the meeting is not a commitment to run.
