2023-2024

Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

My name is Kristen Hershey. I have been teaching special education in the Woodbridge Township school district for 25 years. I received my degree in special education from Georgian Court University. I went on to achieve a masters degree in school leadership from Saint Peter’s University. My certifications include special education teacher grades K-12, principal and supervisor. I have an extensive background in teaching students with behavioral disabilities and students with intellectual disabilities and Autism. I am extremely passionate about teaching and advocating for my students. I have the best job ever and I love every minute spent with my students.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Ocean County, New Jersey and spent my childhood volunteering beside my parents in organizations such as The Arc of Ocean County and the Special Olympics organization. It was that upbringing that sparked my passion for working with children of all abilities.

I have a 13 year old daughter who is the most amazing human! We became a family when she was five years old. She is the light in my life and she makes every day more fun and filled with joy. She also happens to rock an extra chromosome, which I think just makes her extra awesome. Four years ago we adopted the most adorable puppy named Oliver from a rescue organization. We love to travel and do so as often as possible. We also love to spend time in New York City visiting museums and seeing Broadway shows.
