What is notice and wonders?

Students are asked to write down and discuss their observations about a thought provoking picture. This activity is designed to get students (and their parents!) thinking about math on a deeper level. This exercise encourages students to make sense of a math problem by listing what they both notice and wonder about the given information. I encourage students to add pictures to the google drive by sending it to my email mrsshanayhenderson@gmail.com. We will work with these pictures throughout the school year! Thanks! I also encourage for you to use these pictures to start a discussion at home. Try posting one up for 5 minutes and talking about what you notice and wonder with your child.
