Multiplication War - a good game to help practice your multiplication
Setup
Players: 2
Materials: A standard deck of playing cards
Face card values: Before you start, decide on the values for face cards. Common options include:
Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13
Jack, Queen, King = 10
You can also use different values for a more advanced game.
Aces: Decide on the value for Aces, such as 1 or 11.
Deal: Shuffle the deck and deal all the cards evenly between the two players, face down. Players keep their stack in front of them.
How to play
Both players turn over their top card at the same time and multiply the numbers together.
The player who says the correct product first wins all the cards.
The cards are moved to the bottom of the winner's stack.
If both players get the correct product at the same time, play a "war":
Each player places three cards face down and then one card face up.
The first person to correctly multiply the face-up cards wins all the cards.
Continue playing until one player has collected all the cards.
