I am so excited to meet you!
We have a big year ahead of us. All along, I will be right by your side as you grow your brain, make new friends, and have fun! Third grade is AWESOME.
How did I end up at Pleasant Union?
This is my sixth year teaching, though I have been practicing for this my whole life! I graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics and worked in D.C. for 5 years. After taking a gap year to travel, the profession of teaching continued to pull at my heartstrings. That's how I ended up at UNC-Chapel Hill in pursuit of my Master's Degree in Teaching (Elementary Education). I have been teaching at Pleasant Union ever since graduating!
What are some of my interests?
I am a big fan of all sports (college basketball, tennis, football of all kinds, golf, shot-put, you name it...). Be ready to tell me what sport you play or who you root for! Maybe we will be fellow fans, or perhaps...rivals! 😁
My favorite place in the world is the beach, and I have quite the obsession with sharks. Feel free to show off any of your shell or sharks' teeth collections to me!
Reading is one of my top hobbies, as I love to learn about the world that way. I encourage you to send me your book recommendations. I like to know what to add to my library list next.
I cannot wait to learn all about you over the next year. I am sure you will teach me many things!
Scholastic Book Clubs is here for you all year long to boost your kid's reading fandom and maybe even create moments of quality time you can share together!
