Dear Parents,
We've had an incredible March, jam packed with exciting discoveries! Our curriculum covered farm animals, bears, and open and close. We’re thrilled with the progress so far and can't wait to see your children continue to grow throughout the year!
The children were delighted to engage in many of our special March fun-filled activities. Some highlights of the month include:
March Sensory bins where the children explored St. Patrick’s Day themed items through touch and feel.
One of our favorite activities was using tongs to place pom poms into shamrock/four leaf clover shaped pop- its.
To go along with our farm animal theme, the children practiced using play doh cutters to make different farm animals and were able to explore farm-centered sensory bottles.
Using our tongs, the children were able to pick up “seeds” and feed the chickens and ducks!
There were many bear matching activities all month long! We also had sensory activities for open and close, where the children would practice opening and closing objects.
Storytime continues to be a favorite among the children, always met with enthusiasm. It warms my heart that they love books!
Looking ahead to April:
We will be exploring different types of food. We will also cover what we use to eat food, such as utensils (fork, spoon, knife).
We will also be covering all things spring in April! We will cover flowers, rain, gardening, umbrellas, etc.
Our weekly April themes include:
Weather in the spring (rain, umbrella, rain boots, raincoats)
Gardening (flowers, plants, dirt, shovel, rake)
Easter (Easter bunny, decorating eggs, egg hunt, chicks)
Introduction to inside and outside. We will be exploring our learning of items that can open and close through music, books, sensory bottles, and sensory bins.
Special activities planned:
The children will be participating in an Easter egg hunt in our classroom, as well as on the playground!
The children will be getting to “plant” their own plants and flowers in our classroom garden.
Lastly, we will creating a bouquet of flowers by placing stems of flowers into a strainer bowl.
We're grateful for your support and the opportunity to teach your children. Here's to an awesome April!
