AMI Days

Day 1

Students and (parents) can choose to do as many activities on this list as they'd like. Feel free to send picture of your child doing said actvities so I can "join in on the fun" during our time away due to snow days.

Literacy: read a story with an adult or sibling at home. Draw a piture of the main character in the story or you favorite part of the story. Be as detailed as you'd like. Can't wait to see and guess what your favorite story is!

Science: Be Weatherman for the day! With our snow or ice day, observe the weather at your house. See how the sky changes throughout the day. 

Math: See if you an find 100 items around your house! 

Fine arts: Draw a picture or take a picture of you doing something fun at home. Be creative or show me your favorite activity you like to do on "home days". 

Gross motor: Turn some music on and have a dance party! 

Handwriting: Grab your crayons, markers or chalk and practice writing your name, letters and numbers. Handwriting can be fun too!!

Day 2

Literacy: make a reading fort with blankets, pillows, stuffies and more! Have a teddy bear reading party and stay warm on your snow day.

Science: Grab a refrigerator magnet and use it to find objects in your house that are magnetic. 

Math: Find 10 different objects in your house. Put the objects in order from smallest to biggest. 

Fine arts: Act out a scene from your favorite story, TV show or movie or sing a song. 

Gross motor: Count to 100 exercises by Jack Hartman on YouTube. 10 sit up, 10 jumping jacks, run in place for 10 seconds, etc. 

Handwriting: Grab some play dough and practice shaping letters, numbers and shapes!

Day 3

Literacy: Read or listen to a read aloud (on YouTube or Vooks) of your favorite story. Draw the character in the story. Can't wait to hear what you read/listened to!

Science: It may be too cold to go play outside, so draw a picture of you doing your favorite thing to do/play outside. 

Math: Grab you favorite (small) snack. Practice addition problems. Ex: 2 cheerios + 4 cheerios=? 6 cheerios! 

Fine arts: Find the rainbow! Look around your house for items the colors of the rainbow. Once toy have found all 6 colors, make a rainbow from the items. 

Gross motor: Sock snowball toss! Grab some socks, roll them up into a ball and have and have a snowball toss game! 

Handwriting: Practice writing the numbers 1-10. Use pens, markers, crayons or paint!

Day 4

Literacy: Listen/read a winter story at home that you like. See if the weather is the same or different from what is happening at your house.

Science: Make a snowflake at home! I've posted a tutorial on how to make a snowflake on the K4 Instagram page. 

Math: Find a deck of cards in your house. Take out the face cards (or place them in a separate pile as you go. Sort the cards into groups of 1-10 or find the matching numbers and put them in a pile. 

Fine arts: LIsten to your favorite Bible song from school. I will link a few of our favorites.

Gross motor: Indoor hopscotch. Grab some paper and write 1-10 (for handwriting) and play hopscotch. Put them in whatever pattern you'd like. Say the numbers as you hop on them. Maybe even put the numbers out of order to challenge yourself/ 

Handwriting: Write numbers 1-10 on paper for your indoor hopscotch game!
