Mathematical Structure in Data
Topology, Geometry, and Applications
Sep 30-Oct 1, 2026
Modern scientific data are often represented in very high-dimensional spaces, even when the underlying phenomena possess low-dimensional geometric or topological structure. Discovering and exploiting such structure is therefore a central challenge in modern data science and the mathematical sciences.
The conference Mathematical Structure in Data: Topology, Geometry, and Applications will bring together researchers developing mathematical methods for identifying and analyzing structure in data. Topics include manifold learning, topological data analysis, geometric and spectral methods, and related approaches that reveal the underlying organization of complex data sets. By fostering interactions among applied mathematicians, data scientists, and scientists from a variety of application areas, the conference aims to promote new collaborations and highlight common mathematical principles underlying modern data analysis.
