We are seeking dynamic sessions that engage participants in meaningful dialogue, practical strategies, and transformative ideas across the full spectrum of social studies education. We encourage proposals that are:
Grounded in research or classroom practice
Interactive and participant-centered
Inclusive of diverse voices and perspectives
Focused on preparing students for the complexities of the modern world

Notification of Acceptance: December 10, 2026
Deadline for Presenters to Accept: January 4, 2027
Conference Dates: February 26–27, 2027
All proposals will undergo an initial blind review and will be rated based on the following:
🎯Alignment to the 2027 Conference theme and the mission of the MSCSS.
🎯Session outcomes are clearly stated for attendees.
🎯The session promotes active participation.
Additionally, preference will be given to those who have NOT presented at the MSCSS Annual Conference recently.
We welcome proposals aligned with one or more of the following strands:

Deepen understanding of the American experience through critical inquiry, diverse narratives, and historical thinking.
⚖️Civics & Government
Explore strategies to foster civic knowledge, engagement, and responsibility in a democratic society.
💸Economics & Personal Finance
Share approaches that build economic literacy and real-world financial skills for students.
🌍Geography & Global History
Highlight global perspectives, spatial thinking, and the interconnectedness of people, places, and events.
🧠Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Integrate SEL into social studies to support student well-being, empathy, and community-building.
💾Instructional Technology
Showcase innovative uses of technology that enhance engagement, accessibility, and student-centered learning.
🤝Global Competence
Promote cross-cultural understanding, global awareness, and the skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
