My most recent positions as a Pre-K 4 teacher at St. Helen Catholic Academy and aas a self-contained lead teacher in Department of Education District 30, I have gained a wealth of experience in classriom management, IEP writing, and lesson planning, to name a few. I'm grateful for my background as a substitue teacher because I believe it has helped me to creates a thriving classroom environment wherever I go.
As a substitute teacher, especially during the height of the pandemic, I had to learn to adapt quickly to any situation. Through my various positions, I have been hand-picked for planned absences, assuming the role of the classroom teacher in all content areas and settings. My flexibility allows me to teach at a moment's notice for unplanned absences. Working in so many classrooms has strengthened my management and organizational skills, showcasing my dedication to working with different students every day. As a reliable teacher in the building, I have been selected to provide my students with individualized support and lead small groups. This has made me a more adaptable and reflective educator.
