MSBOA District 5 is committed to providing every student with meaningful instrumental music experiences that foster intellectual and creative growth while inspiring emotional expression and artistic communication.

Our Philosophy

The fine arts are an essential part of a well-rounded educational experience, providing balance, creativity, and opportunities for meaningful expression. 

We believe instrumental music enriches students’ lives by developing their ability to communicate through music, share ideas, and connect with others in a unique and powerful way. 

As an expressive art form, instrumental music nurtures growth in physical, intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic areas while inspiring creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Ethics Statement

MSBOA’s primary purpose is to advance quality music education through the study, performance, and celebration of instrumental music. The festivals and educational opportunities we provide serve as a means to support student growth, musical excellence, and lifelong appreciation for the arts.

The rules and policies established for these events are designed to ensure fairness, consistency, and equal opportunity for every participating group and individual. Each director holds the responsibility of understanding, supporting, and upholding these standards.
