My name is Ashley Blood and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. This will be my third year at MES & my 14th year in the classroom. During the 24 - 25 school year, I was honored to be selected as Morrisville's teacher of the year. During my time in the classroom, I have taught 1st through 4th grade but second grade has always held a special place in my heart! I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with my teaching degree and a minor in Dance. Shortly after having my son, I went on to pursue my graduate degree from Concordia University - Portland. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading Intervention. I also hold a Montessori Certification for Lower Elementary.
I am originally from Statesville, NC which is a small town north of Charlotte. I have moved to various places within NC before we settled in Wake County. I have a son, Jaxson, who turned 8 this summer. When I'm not teaching, Jaxson and I love spending time outdoors, going on hikes or bike rides, and visiting museums in the area.Â
A few fun facts about me:
My favorite color is blue
I love visiting the mountains
I have one younger brother
I am looking forward to another wonderful year of teaching at MES!
