Mustafa Şahin Bülbül has been serving as an academic staff member at Kafkas University, Dede Korkut Faculty of Education, since 2005 and is currently a Professor in the Department of Special Education. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2002 and his Master’s degree in Physics in 2004 at Kafkas University. He earned his PhD in Physics Education from the Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education at Middle East Technical University in 2014.
Throughout his academic career, he has conducted interdisciplinary research integrating physics education, special education, and gifted education. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and to Full Professor since 2024, he has been serving as the Head of the Department of Special Education.
His research interests include accessible science and STEM education for students with visual impairments and special educational needs, gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) learners, inclusive learning environments, universal design for learning, micro-drama and embodied learning approaches, creative problem solving, biomimicry, and artificial intelligence–supported educational models.
Bülbül has served as a principal investigator and researcher in numerous national and international projects. His project work emphasizes practice-oriented design, measurable outcomes, and sustainable social impact. He has authored and edited multiple books and book chapters, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and actively contributed to teacher education and professional development initiatives.
