Prof. Marie Huskova, Charles University in Prague
Marie Huskova is Professor Emeritus of Charles University in Prague, where she graduated many years ago. She also obtained Ph.D. in mathematical statistics there, worked in the Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics and got her professorship.
She is the author-coauthor of more than 110 scientific papers concerning mathematical statistics, mostly asymptotic statistics, change point problem, goodness-of-fit tests, bootstrap, nonparametric statistics.
She was invited to deliver talks on many conferences and university colloquia. More than 10 students succesfully defended their PhD. thesis under her supervision.
She has also been active in various international statistical societies (Bernoulli Society, International Statistical Society) and in a number of editorial boards of statistical journals.
Grażyna Trzpiot is Professor of Economic Sciences (title 2008), Head of the Department of Demography and Economic Statistics at the University of Economics in Katowice. Research areas include risk theory and analysis, risk measurement and analysis of the consequences of risks. In recent years, these have been in particular demographic processes including longevity risks, as well as risk theory in investment analysis. Author of 4 scientific monographs and co-author of 8 scientific monographs, author and co-author of 18 academic textbooks. She is the editor of several scientific papers and the author of more than 200 scientific articles.
She is elected vice-president of the Polish Statistical Society for the third term (2010-2014, 2014-2018, 2018-2022) . She represents the PSS on the council of the Federation of National Statistical Societies (FENStat) and on the council of the European Course in Advanced Statistics (ECAS). She was an elected member of the Committee on Demographic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2008-2011). Currently she is a member of the Committee on Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Statistical Council of the Central Statistical Office.
Marek Walesiak is a Professor of Economics, and Chair of the Department
of Econometrics and Computer Science
at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Poland.
He is a member of the Methodological Commission and the Scientific Statistical Council in Statistics Poland (GUS)
and an active member of many scientific professional bodies, including the Section of Classification and Data Analysis SKAD
(former chairman, deputy chairman and secretary of the Section Council).
His scientific interests are in classification
and data analysis, composite indicators, multivariate statistical analysis, marketing research, and computational
techniques in R.
Dominik Rozkrut, PhD
The President of Statistics Poland
Dominik Rozkrut has been the President
of Statistics Poland since 2016. Dr. Rozkrut
is a member of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC). He has been elected to be the Chair of the European Statistical System Partnership Group (PG) for 2020-2021; currently, he is also chairing the PG TF on access to privately-held data. He is a member of the OECD's Committee on Statistics and Statistics Policy (CSSP) and serves as a CSSP Bureau Vice-Chair since 2020. Moreover, he is a member of the UNECE Conference of European Statisticians (CES) and holds a Conference Bureau Vice-Chair function. At the UN level, he represents Poland in the UN Statistical Commission. Dominik Rozkrut has also been involved in the UN Friends of the Chair Group on the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics, the UN Global Working Group on Big Data for Official Statistics, UNECE High-Level Group on Modernisation of Official Statistics. He also has served as a member of the EU Business-to-Government (B2G) Data Sharing Expert group until 2019. In March 2021, he was appointed a member of the European Commission expert group on the EU Expert Group on Facilitating the Use of New Data Sources for Official Statistics.
Dr. Rozkrut's career began at the Department of Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Szczecin. At the same time, he also worked as a member of a market risk management team at a commercial bank. He joined official statistics in 2007 and served as Director of the office's regional branch, being a project manager for numerous research and development projects. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Szczecin, where he received his Ph.D. in Statistics and econometrics. He completed an internship at the University of Massachusetts, Lappeenranta University of Technology, and UNU-MERIT. Dr. Rozkrut is a member of the Main Council of the Polish Statistical Association. In 2021, he was nominated for 2021-2023 as the President-Elect and 2023-2025 as the President of the International Association for Official Statistics.
