Reader Response Theory
Reader Response Theory
The reader response theory was created by Louise Rosenblatt who was an American university professor and known for researcher into the teaching of literary. This theory is made in the late 1960s, it focuses on the readers' reaction to the poem or story. According to this theory, it is the transaction between the reader and the text.
The reader has to surely analyze and understand the text so that he/she can give his/her statement clearly.
Using this theory to bring the readers' own experiences, biases, and emotion of the poem that is given, which influences the readers' interpretation.
I used this literary theory in making a close analysis for the poem "Home" by Warsan Shire to elaborate and tell my side or opinion in that particular poem. This theory is my way to give the learnings or what I understand after reading the poem. I used this theory since I do not fully understand the poem.
