Hello, my name is Sophia Cocozza and I am a current senior at James Madison University. I'm majoring in Middle Grades Education, with minors is Family Studies and Math Middle Grades Education. I will graduate May 2024, and will be certified to teach Mathematics 6-8 in Virginia.
I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to participate in many different clubs and programs at James Madison University. My love for sports continues to follow me throughout my college years, as I am an active participant in JMU club swim, JMU disc golf, and intramural soccer. In my freetime, I love to give back to my community, and have been a GIVE volunteer for the past two and a half years. In GIVE we volunteer locally, give back globally, and promote sustainable change to help our planet.
In addition to these clubs, I am involved in Greek life at JMU. I am a proud member of Phi Sigma Pi, a national honors fraternity, where our motto is “improving Humanity with Honor”. I love being part of Phi Sigma Pi, Beta Rho chapter here at JMU. I was our Beta Iota class treasurer, and am the current DEI chair for PSP. In addition to PSP, I am part of Kappa Delta Pi, a National Honor Society in Education. I joined KDP when I first got into the teacher program in the college of ed, and it has been tremendously helpful in helping me grow into a great future teacher.
Attached is my resume, thank you for your consideration.
