• Born and raised in Atlanta

• Graduated with a B.A in English and a M.A. in Teaching from Georgia State University

• Worked at Henry County High School and McDonough High School for 4 years

• Worked at Cumberland Academy (a school for students with Autism) for 1 year

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy focuses mostly on developing rapport with my students first. By building trust and relationships I am able to connect with my students. Once we have developed trust and respect for each other we are able to explore texts and writing that adhere to the GA Standards of Excellence while also incorporating life skills, current events, and creative projects. I believe in working together as a team to achieve success for each student as well as an inclusive and safe environment that fosters success. Once you are my student you are my student for life.

Hobbies

• Painting - or any kind of arts and crafts!

• Swimming

• Playing with my cat, Heathcliff

• Spending time with family and friends

• Going to see live music (pre-COVID)
