Finalizing the Comic Strip or Book

After you have done some prep work for your comic you should start putting the pieces together.

In the example to the left you can see the format that this comic strip uses. You as the artist can divide your individual segments into any size you choose.

First, think about the story consider what parts are most important and need a larger area for the image you will be drawing.

Next divide your paper into sections for each part of your comic. Notice that not all are equal and not all segments have images.

After you have you page divided do a sample sketch of your layout.

Once you have a layout that you like you can add the dialogue bubbles.

You have two options for completion

  1. You can do a comic strip or a small comic book

  2. You can keep it black and white or add color.

Last complete the final piece and take pictures to send to me.

Have fun! Make sure to email images of your final product with your name and class.
