Sounds like a broken install of office, i would run the office repair tool for office 365 and then set items to open with office 2013. -us/article/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

I would most definitely reset your office account password pre-hand. if you open office and click on account it will show you which account it is activated via, you can then reset the password for that account and access your Microsoft account.Warning: repairing office may trigger it to have you reactivate office.

I am trying to help a friend who is using Office 365 for Business. Since yesterday after Office updated automatically to version 2306, when sending an email via Outlook to several recipients, Outlook resolves some recipients to incorrect addresses even though he types the full proper address into the To: or CC: fields. He does not use Contacts instead relying on auto complete in Outlook to use addresses he has sent emails to previously. He has no issues sending an email to any of the same recipients individually. I realize we could clear the auto-complete list, but since this issue happens only when sending to multiple recipients, I wonder if the recent update can be rolled back. His computer system runs Windows 10, version 22H2 updated with the May 2023 updates. The options appear to be:

Several years ago (Office 2004 days) Microsoft didn't update the version numbers of all applications. They would only rev the applications that were actually updated. We asked them to provide a means of knowing the current overall version and they responded with "use the version number from the Office Component Plugin". That file's version was updated every time.

This past May, we expanded our work of creating a more consistent Outlook experience across endpoints (including Windows) with the release of our early preview of the new Outlook for Windows. This new Outlook for Windows is designed to provide a contemporary yet familiar Outlook experience that helps to improve personal productivity and email organization for users.

Beginning today, members of our Office Insiders community on Current Channel (Preview) will begin to have access and be able to explore new Outlook for Windows as we roll it out to the community. In the coming weeks, this experience will also be made available for Windows Insiders using a similar toggle within the Windows Mail app.

NOTE: You can switch back to your previous Outlook experience whenever you want. Just switch the toggle off and it will automatically open your previous version with no data or email loss.

Now you can save time with the Quick Steps feature, which shows personalized triage actions that you can use repeatedly to keep your inbox clean and organized, and newsletters or important files in easy reach.

Strictly speaking, Office is installed on a computer not 'in' a user, as such. So there are no attributes within AD that support such an operation. One could add to the AD schema and create user objects with new properties. But even then, you;'d need to find the machine on which to perform the upgrade. ANd that information to is not in the AD.

Thank you for your quick reply. No problema, aalready got a script working to find every computer on the ad and the office version installed on each machine, just trying to upgrade every user from office 2010 to 365

The attention my home office has received is quite stunning and way more than I would have expected. Since things have gotten out of control in terms of questions regarding the setup, the hardware, and what on earth I am using all this for, and what kind of electricity bills it results in, I have decided to setup a FAQ and a comments page where you can read what others had to say, or leave a comment of your own.

My wife has been trying to convince me that I should start offering crazy-home-office swag like t-shirts and coffee mugs. While I think that would be hilariously funny I'm not sure I should put in the effort to set something like that up. Perhaps I should ask the visitors of this page what they think of that idea. If you like the idea of crazy-office swag, leave a comment.

People have asked me to list some specs on the systems in the home office. I will make an attempt at that but am not sure how up to date I can keep it since there are expansions, upgrades, changes, and quite a lot of enhancements taking place every few months.
