ACADEMIC FIELD WORK
Geological Field Work is a vital part of my undergraduate study. I have four fieldwork, organized and supervised by my department each year. It involves on-site investigations, geological mapping, structural analysis, sedimentological study, and sample collection from the study area for lab analysis. Fieldwork helps me apply theoretical knowledge practically and strengthens my understanding gained from academic study.
Tasks:
Thorough geological investigations involving fossils and rock identification, and geological structure analysis.
Comprehensive analysis of rock types, structural deformation, identifying minerals and rocks, recognizing surface geological features, understanding river morphology, and collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
Tasks:
Identifying minerals and rocks, recognizing surface geological features, understanding river morphology, and collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
Conducting geological mapping, and writing a comprehensive field report on rock types, structural deformation, and data interpretation.
Barishal-Laharhat River Section, Barishal, Bangladesh
Tasks:
Observation of primary sedimentary structures in fluvial and coastal environments.
Understanding the interaction between geological formation and the hydrology of the area. Interpreting data and plotting on the map.
Creating a comprehensive field report about the overall geology of the Barishal-Laharhat River Section.
Sitapahar Anticline, Sitakundu, Chattagram, Bangladesh
Tasks:
Recognizing the basic rock types within the sedimentary sequence and identifying different sedimentary structures.
Producing a Geological Map from the findings of the field investigation and submitting a Field Report on the overall geology of the Sitapahar Anticline.
