A makerspace is a common place shared by students. It is a place where students have an opportunity to engage in unstructured play. At school, we learn skills like reading, writing, and math by practicing them. Being a creative and innovative thinker is a really helpful skill when you become an adult, and young people need time to "practice" being creative! Often in a makerspace, there are items for building, creating, and designing, both physical and digital. The goal is to promote curiosity and try creative pursuits!
