This is my 6th year teaching and my 3rd year at Northeast. I am originally from Seattle, Washington and moved to Rochester two years ago with my husband who is in medical school at University of Rochester. We have an adorable (and sometimes annoying) cat named Mowgli who you will likely meet on Zoom sometime! :) I am very active and love being outdoors in any weather (running and biking in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter).
In this class we will be studying topics related to finance and math that you will use in your real life outside of school. Some of the topics include: banking, investing, credit, employment, and income taxes.
The first semester of this course will be Algebra 1 Review to prepare you for the Algebra 1 Regents Exam in January 2021. We will review test-taking strategies and Algebra 1 topics such as: linear equations and functions, exponential functions, and quadratic functions. The second semester of this course will be an introduction to Geometry covering: angles, transformations, and similarity.
