Middle School students will identify the forces acting on a skydiver and will be able to recognize when those forces are balanced or unbalanced. The concept of terminal velocity will be introduced and defined as any point in the skydive when the forces are balanced. They will use free body diagrams to describe a skydiver’s velocity and acceleration and then compare the similarities between indoor and outdoor skydiving.
