I was born in Spearfish, but was raised across the border in Hulett, WY. My family owned a cattle ranch where I learned to rope and ride! Off onto my college pathway, on my first stop I received my Associates in Secondary Education at Eastern Wyoming College. Next stop, the University of Wyoming, while attending I chose to adventure across the pond to attend the University of Stirling in Scotland! In Scotland I received my Bachelors in History (University of Stirling), and then my Post-Graduates Diploma in Secondary Education (University of Strathclyde). Completing my student teaching at Lomond School and Linlithgow Academy was quite the experience.
Missing the American West, I returned and taught High School Social Studies at Brush High School. Moving to Denver, CO, I began my middle school career as the 7/8 Social Studies and English Language Development teacher for Boston P8. During my time at Boston P8 I received my Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Grand Canyon University).
One of my favorite past times was to play and referee the game of Rugby! My rugby career began during my time at the University of Wyoming, which inspired my move to Stirling, Scotland, and Glendale, Colorado.
The outdoors has always been my favorite place to be! You can find me climbing up 14,000 feet mountains or crawling through a cave. Sharing my passion for the outdoors is very important to me! Especially, protecting our wild places and National Parks.
I love going on adventures and learning about other cultures.World traveler is a word many people would use to describe me. I have traveled to New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, and many states within the United States.
In 2019, I became a member of the South Dakota National Guard, so some weekends I will be busy working on becoming a soldier!
Freya the Terror and Sadie the Chupacabra are my pups, they are a border collie mix, and we go on lots of adventures together.
December 2021 I will be welcomed Emberly and Elowen into my family. They sure have been an adventure, and your students will hear many entertaining stories about them!
