Students will engage in units for each category. These units are time based to ensure content is covered by the end of the year. The range of these units can be from 3-6 weeks. Students will take pre-assessments upon starting a new unit to inform teaching targets and practices. At the end of the units, students will take post assessments to determine mastery. Progress skills checklists will indicate the standards that have been taught and your child's progress on that standard.

This year we will use technology as a form of communication. Classdojo will be utilized as a tool to provide two-way communication between home and school. This resource is an app that can be downloaded on your phone. Email will also be used as a way to communicate. Agendas will not be utilized this year.
Traditional homework will not be provided during virtual instruction. We encourage students to have some available time to study sight words, skip counting practice, and independent reading. Projects may still be incorporated this year. Time will be provided to complete any projects given.
Students will receive grades for completed work. These assignments will range from participation, independent practice, projects, and assessments. Recovery will be provided for assessments after additional support/instruction has been provided. Please register for infinite campus in order to keep track of your child's grades and progress.
Students will be measured utilizing the following tools and strategies to determine growth as we progress through the year:
STAR READING & MATH: students will take the assessment a few times throughout the year with an expectation of three months of growth each administration.
READING: our goal is to ensure students are reading at a fluency of 90 words per minute and a lexile level of 500. Students sight word mastery will also be measured.
