Unit one for 8th graders allows them the autonomy of selecting an object around the room as the focus for their observational drawing, and implements the use of a color scheme to create a compelling composition for the viewer. They choose the dry media and the color scheme they want to work with and design a composition using their skills of observation of a still life piece.
