Biography
Profound idiocy.
Mr. Saul Strange is a prolific producer, composer, singer and videographer based on the Isle of Wight, UK.
Beginning their artistic endeavours in the late 90's, Saul Strange has produced music in multiple genres over the course of 25+ years, beginning with experimental Trip-Hop, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat, they honed their production and composition skills before moving in to more Industrial, Rock and dark Steampunk territory.
After co-producing a trip-hop album with Randy Bones (Mr. X) under the moniker 'Lama Lounge', Mr. Strange launched their cult circus-steampunk rock band 'The Shanklin Freak Show' in 2006. Shortly after, they also established their 'Mr. Strange' solo project, also in 2006.
While 'Mr. Strange' was initially a solo project, it slowly grew into a full band, steadily gaining collaborating members over the years. Currently, Mr. Strange are a four-piece outfit that broadly makes music in the Electro-Rock / Alternative / Alt-Pop / Art-Rock field.
Mr. Strange has co-produced 3 albums for UK-based Electro-Industrial band 'Global Citizen', as well as multiple remixes and production work for other acts, and a couple of collaborations with US horrorcore artists. Mr. Strange's music has been featured in multiple independent horror films.
In 2020, Saul Strange formed the Cyber-Electro / Industrial act 'Dead Lights' with Dutch artist, Richard Van Kruysdijk. They have released 2 full-length LP's and are currently signed to Dark Tunes Music Group.
Relentlessly weird and not really fitting in anywhere, Saul Strange is a true oddball in the industry who just loves to twist musical genre’s whenever the mood takes their fancy ...which is often.
