Claude Monet, a French painter born in 1840, was a key figure in the Impressionist movement. This style of painting emphasized capturing the fleeting moment and the effects of light and color, rather than strict realism. Monet's famous series of paintings, like the "Water Lilies" and "Haystacks," demonstrate his fascination with depicting the same scene under different conditions
Our K-6th grade art students explored the life and vibrant art of Claude Monet! They learned about his impressionist style and the beautiful ways he captured light and color. Inspired by Monet's masterpieces, the students dove into their own art projects, creating colorful and expressive pieces that reflected his unique vision. A fun and creative time was had by all as they channeled their inner Monet!Â
