Purpose:

This policy is designed to promote a focused and respectful learning environment while allowing the use of technology when necessary for educational purposes.


General Guidelines

Device Usage:

•Students are allowed to use iPads, computers, or other devices only upon teacher request during class.

•Any use of devices without explicit permission from the teacher is not allowed.


Phone Policy:

•The use of phones in class is governed by school policy as outlined in the student handbook.

•Phones may only be used in class when specified by the teacher.

•The teacher will provide at least one day’s notice prior to a class when students are required to bring their phones.


Expectations:

•Students must ensure that their devices are charged and ready for use when requested.

•Students are responsible for their devices, including any damages or loss that occurs during class time.

•During class, devices should be used for educational purposes only. Non-educational activities (e.g., social media, games, texting) are prohibited unless specified by the teacher.


Consequences for Policy Violations:

•First Violation: Verbal warning and reminder of the policy.

•Second Violation: Student will be asked to put the device away for the remainder of the class.

•Third Violation: A meeting with the teacher to discuss the issue; parents may be notified.


Teacher Discretion:

•The teacher reserves the right to revoke device privileges if the policy is repeatedly violated or if it disrupts the learning environment.

•In cases of special projects or activities requiring technology, the teacher will outline specific guidelines for usage.
