Student/Parent Handbook: DU Handbook
DU Tardy Policy for Middle School Students:
All students must arrive to school on time. Any student who arrives late must report to the office and obtain a late pass/tardy slip before he/she will be admitted to class. Parents must enter the building and sign-in their children at that time. All tardies are considered UNEXCUSED unless a student is returning from a medical and/or dental appointment, or the child is ill. A parent/guardian will need to provide a verification of a doctor’s note or a note of explanation for all tardiness. The total number of late arrivals will be renewed each semester. The penalty for six unexcused tardiness will equal the penalty for one day of unexcused absence.
The following consequences will be put in place should students be tardy.
• 1 st tardy-Verbal warning will be issued by staff.
