"To understand where we are going, you must understand where we have been."

Seventh Grade World History is an amazing course which gives students an opportunity to study important events which have taken place from the 16th century to the present. Many students wonder why they need to take Social Studies. I tell students, "To Understand where we are going, you must understand where we have been." World History gives students an opportunity to dig deep into the past to make conclusions on how the past has impacted society today.

This year, we will focus on the roles students can play when examining world history. Throughout the year each student will be able to make the following statements, based on what they are learning in our classroom:

" I am a historian."

"I am a geographer."

"I am an economist."

"I am an anthropologist."

"I am a political scientist"

"I am a sociologist."

"I am an analyst."

"I am a researcher."
