Written Exam - Time 1 hour & 45 minutes
Section A
Answer ALL 4 data response and short answer question (15 marks each)
The 4 questions will cover both Topic 1: The World at Risk and Topic 2: Going Global
Section A is worth 60 marks in total
Section B
Choice between question 5 and 6 (CHOOSE 1 ONLY)
Questions 5 and 6 will be on the two different topics so you will choose to answer on Topic 1: World at Risk or on Topic 2: Going Global
Part A is usually a 10 mark question and Part B is usually a 20 mark question.
Part A will often have resource booklet material for you to study and analyse in detail
Part B will be a longer extended essay question where you will be asked to assess or evaluate.
Section B is worth 30 marks in total
Total marks for Paper 1 is 90 Marks (worth 60% of the overall IAS and 30% of the overall IAL)
Section A
Answer ALL of section A question 1 and 2 (12 marks each), they will be data response and short answer questions.
The 2 questions will be on Crowded Coasts and Urban Problems, Planning & Regeneration.
Section A is worth 24 marks in total.
Section B
Compulsory short-answer questions on research and fieldwork investigation.
Section B is worth 24 marks in total.
Section C
Choice of 1 unseen field work question with resource booklet information to support your answers.
You must choose to answer on Topic: 1 Crowded Coasts or Topic 2: Urban Problems, Planning & Regeneration
Section C is worth 12 marks in total.
Total marks for Paper 2 is 60 Marks (worth 40% of overall IAS and 20% of overall IAL)
