Hello, my name is Mrs. Kelsey Peppenhorst. You may also know me as Mrs. Pepp or my previous name,
Ms. Johnson. :) I am the first grade teacher at Germantown Elementary. I am very excited to be a member of the Bulldog family. I grew up in Aviston, Illinois with my parents and three younger siblings. From the time I was a little girl, I knew I had always wanted to be a teacher and make a difference in a child's life.
I fulfilled my dream of becoming a teacher at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, where I graduated in May 2015. I completed my student teaching in third grade at Germantown Elementary under cooperating teacher, Ms. Brandy Hempen. Throughout this amazing experience, I learned an incredible amount to better prepare me for my future in education. With that being said, I am beyond excited to continue my career as a first grade teacher here in Germantown.
While pursuing my career in education, I was a member of the McKendree Bearcat Women's Volleyball team. In 2014, I was hired by Germantown Elementary as the Head Volleyball Coach for 7th and 8th grade girls. During my first year as head coach, the bulldogs made their way to the state tournament by claiming the Class S Regional title. In 2017, the Lady Bulldogs fought extremely hard and earned themselves a shot at the Class S State Tournament once again and were declared the 2017 Class S State Champions.
In May of 2019, I married my best friend, Kory, and had a beautiful baby girl, Kynli. In June of 2021, I had two handsome twin boys, Kamdyn & Kellyn. I now live in Carlyle, Illinois with my wonderful, growing family of five.
