I am so excited to teach first grade at Frenchtown Elementary School!
I have been teaching for 29 years. I’ve taught preschool through fourth grade in my career and have truly loved each age group. First grade has my heart, as I have spent the last ten years with students in this energetic, wonderful grade level.
I received my degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University and earned my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University as well.
Teaching is my passion! Seeing students grasp a concept, use a strategy we’ve covered, or explore their unique interests and capabilities is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy the challenge of meeting the different learning abilities and styles of students. I also love that first graders don’t judge my singing voice or dance moves, so I can use song and movement to engage them in active learning throughout the day.
I am married and have three children: Christopher, Antone, and Emma Corrinne. Christopher is married to my wonderful daughter-in-law, Kerri, and they have four amazing children who have captured my heart in ways I never imagined possible! Antone is in the Army, serving our country with pride. Emma Corrinne lives in Colorado and is married to my favorite son-in-law, Connor.
When I’m not in my classroom, I enjoy kayaking, spending time with my family, hiking with my dog, and reading about teaching.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your amazing children this year!
