Hello! My name is Mrs. Parks, and I am a California Multiple Subject Credentialed Teacher with a degree and credential from CSUSM. I spent my public school teaching years as a Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher at FUESD, where I developed a passion for nurturing young learners.
After welcoming my daughter, Charlotte, in early 2023, I made the decision to step away from full-time classroom teaching to focus on raising my two children and begin my homeschool journey with my son, Jake. Through this experience, I discovered a growing need for qualified teachers to support homeschool families as they navigate the essential foundational skills of reading and writing.
As both an experienced educator and a homeschool mama, I bring a unique blend of professional expertise and personal understanding to help guide your child’s learning. I am passionate about equipping young learners with the skills they need to become confident readers and writers, and I’m here to support your family every step of the way!

Foundational Skills
Foundational Skills
Phonological awareness, reading and writing combined with creativity, classroom routines and classroom skills will help early elementary students learn about and thrive in a classroom setting. We will use songs, gestures, blending boards, decodable readers, letter formation and hands on word work. Weekly integration of critical thinking games and logic puzzles will encourage active engagement in problem-solving. Your child will acquire the essential foundational skills for reading, writing and oracy. Students will be able to read books containing cvc and high frequency words fluently by the end of the semester.
*Investment $225/semester for a 3 hour class, 1 day a week
or $500/semester for a 3 hour class, 2 days a week

One on One Tutoring
My individualized tutoring sessions are designed to nurture a love of learning while building essential reading and writing skills. Tailored to meet the unique needs of each homeschool student, these one-on-one sessions provide a supportive and encouraging environment where learners can grow at their own pace.
In reading, students will develop phonemic awareness, practice phonics patterns, build vocabulary, and strengthen comprehension strategies through engaging, hands-on activities and carefully selected texts. Writing instruction will focus on letter formation, spelling, sentence structure, and creative expression, fostering confidence and communication skills.
Each lesson is crafted to reinforce core concepts, celebrate progress, and inspire curiosity, ensuring that students gain the foundational skills they need to become thoughtful, capable readers and writers.
