Who is Mrs. O'Shea?

My name is Vanessa O'Shea.  I was born in Olean, New York and lived all of my childhood years in Turtlepoint.  I attended and graduated from the Port Allegany School District in 1995.  I then went on to earn my teaching degree at Clarion University.  I graduated from Clarion in 1999.  I received a part-time job teaching in Northern Potter School District.  I taught there until January of 2001.  I then went back to school at Shippensburg University and received my Reading Specialist Degree in 2002.  I began teaching Title I Reading at Galeton Area School District and worked there until 2003.  I then got married and moved to Shippensburg, PA.  I taught 4th grade at Nancy Grayson Elementary School for 4 years.  At that time, we built a new 4th and 5th grade building.  I began teaching 4th grade ELA and Social Studies in 2007 and did that until last year.  I have always dreamed of one day returning to my "roots" and my family.   It has been so wonderful to be back in the town that has always been home to me!  I have always been a Gator at heart!

I have 2 children-a daughter Allie who is 20 and attends college at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and a son Ian who is 18 and is currently working at Pine Valley Landscaping.  My husband, Jim is currently serving as a member of the PA National Guard and works for Potter County Emergency Management.  Our dogs Millie and Thor are also part of the family!  I have 3 sisters (one of them being my twin) and many nieces and nephews.  I am also a huge fan of reading and of the Dallas Cowboys!
