My name is Jill O’Neill and I am from Naperville, Illinois. I love playing volleyball, traveling, being outdoors and being with my family. I am a HUGE Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan!! I graduated from Illinois State University where I focused on Secondary Mathematics Education. Since then, I have been given the opportunity to teach at a few high schools within the past ten years.
I am currently teaching AP Calculus AB at Morton West High School. Each year I have been able to collaborate with my colleagues in professional learning communities, PLC’s, to develop a curriculum that includes more differentiated and kinesthetic learning in order to be successful on assessments and AP exams.
I am a firm believer that students perform better when given these different learning opportunities where they can work at their own pace or walk around the room to work on scavenger hunts or group activities. With that said, I am looking forward to incorporating an abundance of learning strategies, teaching and leadership techniques, and ways to ensure a successful student and professional learning community. Education is extremely important and it is my goal to make math fun and help my students develop into life-long learners!
