Hi Admirals and parents! My name is Michelle Manning. I attended Ohio University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications. I've always loved to create paintings, drawings, and mosaics. After switching gears and having a successful career in the legal field, I decided to stay home with my children for 7 years. When I went back to work, I decided I wanted to teach art. I got my teaching certificate from ECU and have taught both high school and elementary art. I'm now in my seventh year of teaching and I really love it!
I live with my husband John, two children Celia and Jake, and my dog Bruno (but we don't talk about Bruno!). I have lived in many places, including Ohio, Florida, New Hampshire, New York, and now North Carolina. I love camping in the mountains, beachcombing, going to movies, and of course, making art. I'm originally from Ohio, but I love living near the beach and teaching art at Anderson! I have some examples of my art below if you'd like to see it. Some of the media used to make these artworks include acrylic and watercolor paint, tile for mosaics, clay, charcoal, chalk pastels and seaglass.
