I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Miami, although as a child I lived in Indiana and Ohio. I am truly an American being part Scotch-Irish, Sicilian, German, and Dominican. I have taught for Orange County Schools in Orlando, Florida for 17yrs and 8 years here in Fulton County Public Schools. I have a Bachelors degree in History and Masters in Secondary Education . Both are from the University of Florida.
I revel in learning about world cultures, traveling, and photography. In the classroom, my management style revolves around the theme of respect, routine, and positive reinforcement. Students respect each other and are encouraged to consider and empathize with different perspectives. I have high expectations of both my students and myself, and I work to differentiate my classroom instruction in order to motivate and challenge my students. I believe that students will be most successful with the support and collaboration of parents, administrators, teachers, and peers. I believe in supporting students grit and development of a growth mindset. We all can learn very valuable lessons from our failures and our resilience will result in our many successes! Please do not hesitate to email me with questions, concerns, and most of all- celebrations! I look forward to working with you this year!
