Workshop - Sunday, March 9th 2025 (2 - 6pm) in Saint-Malo, France
The workshop will be accepting submissions broadly related to Mixed Reality research topics focusing on comfort, safety, and affordances such as:
Methods for evaluating comfort, safety, interactions, movement, and affordance challenges in MR
Considerations of device and peripheral general design and form factor effects on user comfort, movement, and interaction.
Important research topics in safety, comfort, interactions, and affordances in MR
Empirical studies on VIMS, eye strain, or other negative impacts of MR technology
Techniques for mitigating unseen hazards in XR (e.g. redirected walking), or enabling awareness of the user’s surroundings (e.g. guardian systems, augmented virtuality)
Studies on psychological and physiological implications of MR technology use
Studies with populations including youth (ages 10+), elderly, or people with disabilities or for specific professionals such as industrial workers or medical professionals.
The paper must be written in English. The submission must be in the form of a two-page summary paper (excluding references) with a maximum of 100-word abstract. The submitted paper must be in PDF format with embedded fonts. Two-page papers will be included in the abstracts and workshop proceedings and will be archived in the IEEE Digital Library. The submission must be prepared in the IEEE Computer Society VGTC format and submitted as PDF. We highly encourage authors to use the LaTeX template. Authors who use the Word template must ensure that their PDF submission matches the format. Papers must be submitted through the default IEEE VR online submission system. Supplemental materials, such as a video or image, can be uploaded to the submission site as well, but are not mandatory. Every submission should be anonymous for the peer-review process.
The organizers will do their best to make the workshop remote-friendly, and virtual participation is warmly welcomed. However, we encourage attendees and presenters to join us in-person if possible, as it offers a more engaging and interactive experience.
All attendees and presenters need to register for the IEEE VR 2025 conference in Saint-Malo, France to be able to attend any workshop.
