Hello! And welcome to an awesome 2020-2021 school year. This year is undoubtedly unlike any other school year many of us have ever experienced. Although many things will be different this year, one thing remains constant. That is, I am honored to serve as YOUR English Language Arts teacher this year. In order for us to make the best use of our time this year, we must learn and accept our “new normal”. In other words we have to get with the program, and STAY with the program. During the first week of school, we will take a look at everything you need to know to be successful in this 8th grade course.
I am a passionate and highly qualified educator, and have been teaching English Language Arts since 2015. My teaching philosophy is to teach students with proven strategies and instructional practices, while curating student interactions that are heartfelt and impactful. I believe that without an adequate education, student quality of life is at risk.
I was born and raised in Morrow, GA, and received my K-12 education from Clayton County Public Schools, ultimately graduating from Morrow High School! I received my undergraduate degree from Georgia State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. From there, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University!
In addition to being a rock start teacher, I am a proud wife and mother! I married Mr. David Irions in McDonough, GA on October 20, 2017 , and delivered Judah Irions, my greatest and most cherished gift, on August 6, 2018.
