Heather Helle is a music teacher at Scott City Elementary/Middle School in Scott City, Missouri. She has been teaching there since she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 2000. Mrs. Helle has a Bachelor of Music Education degree, with both vocal and instrumental certification. She is recently received her master’s degree in Teacher Leadership and Trauma and Resiliency Certificate through Southeast Missouri State University.
Teaching PreK to 6th grade, Mrs. Helle is blessed to have her students for eight years. In her classroom, students learn history, math, languages, and reading all through music. Mrs. Helle’s best day in the classroom is seeing students excited about learning, engaged in the lessons, and exploring cultures around the world through music. Her desire is for the community to realize they have so much to be proud of regarding the students of Scott City. Her concerts showcase the students talents, entertain the community, and give parents a moment they will always cherish.
Fourteen years ago, Mrs. Helle created an elementary/middle school Honor Choir. This choir travels to assisted living homes, the Southeast Cancer Center, Missouri Veterans Home, and performs at Busch Stadium throughout the year. Countless lives have been touched by the voices of the young children in this choir and the power of their music.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Helle is a worship leader, and a piano and bass player at Bethel Assembly of God. Mrs. Helle resides in Cape Girardeau with her husband, who is also an educator, and together they have 3 wonderful children.
