An Individualized Education Plan is also known as an IEP. This is a plan or program developed to ensure that a child with an identified disability who is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives specialized instruction and related services in order to ensure improved outcomes in their learning.
The IEP is developed by a team and all members are equal partners in the IEP process.
The team includes:
- the child
-individuals from various educational disciplines
-family members, legal guardians, and/or designated advocates
