Please supply your Kindergartner with a backpack or some kind of bag that will hold their lunch, snack, coat, and a change of clothes. They do not need pencils, scissors, crayons, or glue as we are providing those for our K/1 students this year.
Please also send a labeled water bottle each week with your child.
Each month we do a pizza day that is scheduled on our school calendar. Pizza can be ordered and purchased by you, if you wish. Please do not send soda as it is not allowed at Greeley Options.
When you arrive at Options in the morning your kindergartener will be directed to the gym. I will meet them down there before they say the pledge and walk them back to our classroom afterwards.
At 2:55 your kindergartner will line up inside in the K/1 hallway. When you pull up to the door someone will walk your child to your car.
Dear Parents,
I am so excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year! It has been a dream of mine to someday teach in a kindergarten classroom and what a thrill it has been to plan and prepare over these summer months!
As you know our Greeley Options program is meant to come alongside and to support you in the education of your child. The enrichment we provide comes in the form of many fun, hands-on activities during the day in our classroom.
We will sing, have a calendar time, read lots of books, work on our letters and numbers, explore manipulatives, learn about the ocean and space, engage in many messy art activities, move and sing in PE and music, and play, play, play.
I do have a fantastic aide during the day, Mrs. Skroch (pronounced Skrok). She has been in early childhood for many years, loves this age, and is a great support.
If you ever need to get a hold of me or Mrs. Skroch you can email us at aedale@aurorak12.org or lskroch@aurorak12.org
Please see the rest of this page with more details about what you child needs to bring with them and information about the upcoming year.
Thank you!!
Mrs. Dale
Mrs. Skroch
Every day we have a time in the morning for snack. Please send a snack from home. We do NOT share our snack or our lunch with others due to allergy concerns!
Also, at lunchtime we would request that you do not send Pizza Lunchables or fruit cups. Other Lunchables are fine, but the pizza ones tend to be very messy with the pizza sauce. The fruit cups also tend to be hard to open and sticky. Thank you!
We love to celebrate birthdays in our Kindergarten class. Just be aware that if you send a special treat, that treat will be sent home with the students at the end of the day rather than eaten during the day. This helps curb the sugar rush and again helps those students who have allergies and/or food sensitivities.
