Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
Go to Edulastic and take the practice test. If you score 80% or better without any help, you probably don't need a lot of practice. If you get between 70% and 80%, you should practice a little. If you get below 70%, I want you to make sure you review everything below and watch the practice videos.
Make sure you know how to use your CUBES strategy.
Make a list of math action words (key words) to help you know which operation to use. You may use this list to help you on the test.

After you practice, go back to Edulastic and take the test again to see if you have improved.
Get a piece of paper and divide it into 4 sections. Label each section with one of our operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide). As you watch the videos, write down the math action words they talk about in the correct sections. Save this chart to use as a tool for class and homework. On the back of your paper, write down the words that tell us when to round, and when not to round.
