Website Overview for Students and Families:
Woohoo! Welcome families and students to our classroom website. Here you will find tools, resources, classes, and schedules. I will post information on our site to keep students on track as well as inform families of what's happening in the classroom. I am excited, and humbled, to be guiding and teaching the future generation. Together we can support, encourage, and engage with each other and with learning. Let's get started!
About your Teacher:
Hello! I am Mrs. Alexandra Chavez, your math teacher for the year. I am so excited to be your teacher! I am very passionate about learning and teaching and have spent my college days learning how to be a kind, respectful, effective teacher. I graduated UNM in May 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Language Arts. This will be my sixth year teaching. I love math, especially math that is taught with grace, patience, and compassion. Math can be fun and I am here to be a guide and facilitator for your learning. Asking me questions, participating in discussions and tasks, and being respectful is the key to my classroom. I thrive on classroom culture that is kindness and respect based, where it is a two-way street: me and you. I love to problem-solve, so if there are any issues, let's work them out together! If there is anything you need, please let me know.
About me: I have been married for over five years, I don't have any pets, my favorite color is yellow, I live on tea and chocolate, and I love strength training at the gym. I am excited to get to know you all! :)
