RI.1.9 - Identify basic similarities in and differences between two texts on the same topic.

Students were given a picture to compare and contrast on SeeSaw. Above you will see the picture given to them and to the right you will hear a students response that she recorded as her answer on SeeSaw.

WRITING


W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide closure.

After studying the how to writing process students were practicing jumping rope in order to write their own how to jump rope piece. Once they felt confident in their jumping rope skills they could begin writing.

The students had a lot of fun working on their physical skills while also working on their writing skills.

W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide closure.

W1.2a. With guidance and support from adults, organize information and ideas around a topic to plan and prepare to write.

Students were completing research on their chosen topic. Once their research was complete they then published their own All About Book.
