Dear First Grade Parents,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year! I am thrilled to have your children in my class and look forward to partnering with you in their educational journey.
I am excited to introduce you to my new website, which will serve as a valuable resource for both parents and students. The site will include a variety of literacy materials designed to support your child's reading development at home. Here’s what you can expect to find:
Framework for Reading: This section will outline key components of literacy instruction, providing insights into how we teach reading in the classroom, and strategies to support our growing readers.
Parent Resources: A collection of resources and activities that you can use at home to reinforce your child's reading skills. These materials will include tips for reading together, recommended books, and fun literacy games.
Response to Intervention strategies and activities: These pages will highlight methods used, in addition to core instruction, to support our students and your children in their reading and writing development.
A review of progress monitoring.
Glossary: A helpful glossary of reading terminology that will familiarize you with important terms related to literacy, making it easier to understand the strategies we use.
Our goal is to create a supportive environment where children can thrive as readers. By working together, we can help them develop a love for reading that lasts a lifetime.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
Warm regards,
Ms. Young
