Meet Your Teacher...

Hello!

My name is Mrs. Walker and I want to welcome you to our fantastic fourth grade class.  I am excited to be your teacher this year and I can't wait to meet you and learn all about you and your family!

I was born and raised right here in wonderful Gillette, Wyoming where I enjoyed playing tennis, figure skating, reading and camping with my family as a child.  After high school, I attended Black Hills State University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and minors in Reading K-12, Middle School English and Middle School Social Studies. I student-taught in a kindergarten classroom and then taught kindergarten, third grade and fourth grade for a total of 11 years.  I am so excited for my sixth year at JPII in fourth grade!  I am so excited to continue to have the opportunity to incorporate my strong catholic beliefs and love of God in my teaching. My passion is working with children and I'm thrilled to be starting my 11th year of teaching here!

Over the summer, my husband and I celebrated our 8th year wedding anniversary!  We are both from Gillette and are thrilled to continue building our lives here.  I am lifelong member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and my husband has been a member for 9 years now.   We are so excited to continue our journey of faith and building upon our relationships with our fellow catholics at St. John Paul II.
